SolidRun's Base version of the HummingBoard carrier offers a usable and economical starting point for low-compute needs in an embedded device. It is available now from Digi-Key. The device focuses on the file system being made exclusively available through a micro-SD card slot together with the ability to do basic GPIO, media processing, and network connectivity. The HummingBoard Edge is the ideal M2M platform; it was developed to meet the B2B market demand for a high-performance, reliable, and innovative device. The board includes a whole set of features such as eMMC (4GB), mPCIe (half or full size), wide-range input (7V to 36V), optional metal enclosure, and much more. The device is the first SBC to include an integrated mikroBUS socket, offering an easy hardware configuration to MikroElektronika’s wide range of click boards add-on modules. The mikroBUS pinout and the click board ecosystem is especially suitable for developers who are working on multi-purpose, modular products. The Pro version of the carrier offers a valuable development platform with advanced capabilities (including multiple storage methods) in an embedded device. As opposed to the HummingBoard Base model, the Pro focuses on larger file storage via mSATA, LVDS display integration, as well as extensibility through additional board access.
