Modules underpin South Korea’s smallest battery-powered 3G tracking device

U-blox have announced that two of its products have been used by Cobilsys to create South Korea’s smallest battery-powered asset tracking device.
The ATPACK tracker measures 53mm x 48mm x 15mm and can be used to track the location of items such as cars, motorcycles and pets. At its core is the U-blox EVA-M8M, claimed to be the industry’s smallest concurrent GNSS module, which can work with GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou. Complementing this location-tracking module is their ultra-compact SARA-U270 HSPA/GSM communications module, which transmits the asset’s location via the local cellular network.
Cobilsys chose the U-blox modules for its tracker because of their small size and high power-efficiency, which enables the ATPACK to run on a compact and single 700mA battery for up to five days. The technical support team worked closely with Cobilsys to create the tracker.
