Mouser now stocks the MAXREFDES130# building automation shield from Maxim Integrated. The device is a complete reference for prototyping building automation designs. The Arduino Uno R3-form-factor shield is compatible with both Arduino and ARM mbed platforms, giving designers a choice of development ecosystems.
The shield features eight 0V–10V analog inputs and outputs, one 4mA–20mA input, and one 4mA–20mA output, which match the systems that are embedded in many buildings and control systems. The shield includes both non-latching and latching relays, which designers can use to control multiple power lines and control temperature, saving energy and ensuring a comfortable building climate. The device also features a 1-Wire master bus for use with multiple MAXREFDES131#, a 1-Wire-based Panasonic Grid-EYE sensor, bringing modern presence and gesture-sensing feedback to the platform.
In addition to building automation, the device is ideal for many automation or IoT applications, including lighting decoration and animatronics.
