Humidity and temperature extension board enables smarter use of battery life

Sensirion’s SHTW2 Xplained Pro, available now from RS Components, is a dual humidity and temperature extension board for use with Atmel’s SAMD20 Xplained Pro Board. With two SHTW2 humidity and temperature sensors, the extension board enables new applications such as the development of on/off body detection. This new application allows devices to detect if a user is wearing it to enable smarter use of battery life in battery-driven applications such as fitness and medical trackers, audio peripherals such as headphones and even virtual reality goggles.
