New industrial memory cards enable customer systems to operate reliably in a harsh environment

Apacer has recently launched industrial Micro SD/Micro SDHC memory cards which conform to SD 3.0 specifications. Although the size is only one-tenth of general SD card, the cards have a complete range of product types, providing SLC and MLC chips for choice. The highly reliable SLC chips have capacities ranging from 256MB to 8GB, which best satisfy industrial devices’ demand of small capacity and high stability as a system disk. The more economic MLC chips’ capacities range from 4GB to 128GB, meeting the high-capacity storage needs. All of the company’s microSDHC/SDXC memory cards are temperature-resistant, shockproof, waterproof, anti-static and x-ray-proof, allowing customer systems to operate reliably in a harsh environment. The memory cards also feature high-quality flash memory chip, customized firmware, and optimized management tools, such as write protect which prevents precious data from being written over or erased by mistake. Furthermore, the memory cards support ECC to reduce data error arising from constant overwrite, and SMART techniques which automatically monitor memory health status, greatly improving product reliability and lifespan. Designed with rigorous industrial specification demands, they can also apply to embedded devices for defence use, communication and surveillance as well as vehicle-mounted devices.
