Gels and pastes convert bare electrical connections to fully protected IP68 standard

Switchtec is offering a novel range of sealing products that offers manufacturers, installers and those in maintenance to improve bare cable connections into waterproof types. Manufactured by Arnocanali, the range embraces sealing pastes and gels pastes that can change a simple, unsealed junction box to become IP68 ingress rated. The requirement to interconnect cables is a common occurrence during an installation. Such interconnections are made by combining two or more cables inside a terminal block or connector. To protect the connection, the connector is frequently fitted inside an enclosure. However, if the solution is outdoors, and requires burying or submerging, is at risk of extreme liquid exposure, or open to extreme temperatures, then the ingress of water or condensation build-up can become an issue for the connection by producing an electrical fault. To prevent or to cure an ongoing issue, the use of the company's sealing gels or pastes offers a solution, completely insulating the connection. These sealing products are aimed at OEMs, contractors, installers, and distributors and can be used for enclosure sealing, waterproofing, and insulating electrical installations.
