Fairview Microwave has added a new family of RF and microwave power amplifier accessories that offers heat sinks, heat sinks with cooling fans and power control cable assemblies. The heat sinks in this range are perfect for thermal management of power amplifiers that can produce excessive levels of heat. These heat sinks can enhance heat dissipation from a power amplifier to guarantee the internal circuit assembly does not overheat and optimum performance and reliability is supported.
The company's new product line has eight different heat sink models featuring finned extrusion profiles with large baseplate mounting surfaces and AC or DC power supply options for models with integrated cooling fans. Most models have thermal mounting gaskets for optimal thermal flow. Some are designated for general purpose usage and others for select power amplifier models. The general-purpose heat sink models can be used for all of the company's power amplifiers where a heat sink is recommended, typically 1W and greater. This series also has four power control cable assemblies that are configured for select power amplifier models with D-sub connector interfaces to support test and measurement applications.
“Designers will find our new amplifier accessories extremely useful in test and measurement applications. They ensure optimal performance, long-term reliability and can be used in combination with a wide selection of our power amplifier models,” said Tim Galla, product manager.
