Automotive resolver-to-digital converter reference design for safety applications

16-03-2018 | Texas Instruments | Automotive & Transport

The TIDA-00796 reference design, from Texas Instruments, is a complete resolver solution based on SoC PGA411-Q1 sensor interface. The typical applications for this design are in EV and HEV powertrain systems. The design solves excitation amplifier, diagnostics, boost converter, signal conditioning and reduces the PCB area. This collectively reduces overall costs and time-to-market. It features 4Vrms or 7Vrms 10kHz-20kHz excitation signal; programmable fault detection thresholds and filters. Interfacing is offered with the F28069 controlSTICK and F28069M LaunchPAD development kits. It comes in a compact 30mm x 70mm four-layer PCB.
