Reverse battery protection reference design has overcurrent and overvoltage shutoff

15-03-2018 | Texas Instruments | Automotive & Transport

The PMP9498 reference design from Texas Instruments is a complete front-end protection solution for automotive systems requiring reverse voltage, over-voltage and over-current protection. Load switch ability is also implemented to digitally control the connection and disconnection of the load to the input supply. The design fits the low Iq demands for automotive applications during shutoff and features a strong gate current source (typ 30mA) to drive high power MOSFETs for high current applications. The design has a -17V to 40V wide maximum DC voltage range, with 30mA gate drive (Typ) for high power MOSFETs.
