New cable assemblies offer space-saving solution for automotive and IoT applications

25-04-2018 | Amphenol | Subs & Systems

Amphenol RF has introduced a line of fixed length FAKRA to AMC cable assemblies. These assemblies highlight two popular connector series on the ultra-flexible 1.37mm coax cable and are perfect for IoT applications and automotive requiring compact infrastructure. The cable assembly joins the automotive industry standard FAKRA connector with the micro-miniature AMC connector featuring a low profile and a very small board footprint. This combination provides for easy connect and disconnect, and allows colour coding and available keying to stop mis-mating through the installation process. The connectors can be terminated with other AMC or similarly keyed FAKRA, and are IP67 rated when mounted for protection in case of temporary submersion. Currently, these cable assemblies are available in six varying metric lengths.
