STMicroelectronics STKNX Miniature KNX Transceiver, available now from Mouser, is utilised for KNX TP communication and comes housed in a small 4mm x 4mm VQFNPN24 package for compact designs. The device features a simple interface to the µC that provides easy replacement of physical layer discrete components implementations. The device offers two integrated voltage regulators for external use in the application. This includes a selectable 3.3V/5V-20mA linear regulator and an adjustable 1V to 12V-150mA high-efficiency DC-DC step-down switching converter.
The device provides an integrated KNX bus power extractor that supports bus current up to 30mA to power external devices and the transceiver's own power needs. This restricts the bus current slew rate according to KNX specifications. The device ensures the safe coupling to the bus and provides the bus monitoring warning for the loss of bus power.
