TE Connectivity has a new USB Type-C receptacle, available now from TTI Europe, which provides one solution to deliver data up to 10Gbps, power up to 100W and audio/video input in a single connection. The new connector is a next-generation solution for current and future USB applications. It is designed to an industry standard that gives a slim profile small enough for handheld devices yet sturdy enough for industrial applications. The receptacle features a reversible mating interface designed to accept a plug in any direction. This enables easy, reliable mating. The connector supports a number of protocols and, with the use of adaptors, is backwards compatible with VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort and other types of connections from the single USB Type-C port. The company's new USB Type-C receptacle is also designed with industry-leading EMI protection and enhanced retention features.
