Cost-effective cylindrical supercapacitor cells and modules offer excellent reliability

The AVX SCC and SCM ranges represent supercapacitor cylindrical cells and supercapacitor cylindrical modules composed of such cells. These two ranges are the most cost-effective solution from the company's supercapacitors portfolio. They are available now from TTI Europe. On top of this catalogue offering, they are open to all customised projects where different cap values/voltages, moulded case encapsulation, various balancing methods (matching up to five cells, passive, active), cooling, diagnostics (overvoltage, overtemperature) are required. The devices offer excellent reliability with over 4000 hours life tests with results still within specification. The devices provide fast charging and discharging in level of seconds, compared to battery solution in levels of minutes/hours. The number of charging/discharging cycles is counted in millions, compared to the batteries which have around 500. Supercapacitors are designed to handle high current pulses, opposed to batteries, which are damaged by such pulses.
