Analog Devices has introduced an RF ADC that gives industry leading speed and bandwidth. The new AD9213 offers higher parametric performance, better Nyquist bandwidth, and RF sampling abilities at higher analog input frequencies than conventional RF ADCs, enabling for the digitisation of RF signals up to 7GHz. The device allows the next generation of software defined systems in instrumentation and communications, aerospace and defence, driving greater system integration, lower costs, reduced power consumption, and decreased size, weight, and power (SWaP). Also, the high sample rate and integrated post processing allow more performance gains in narrow-band applications.
The device gives aerospace and defence clients greater flexibility and the capability to process bigger sections of spectrum in electronic surveillance and countermeasures applications, as well as increased resolution and longer range in RADAR designs. The device supports electronic test and measurement manufacturers produce greater product differentiation and new levels of performance in time-domain applications, such as digital oscilloscopes and spectroscopy/chemical analysis. The broader Nyquist bandwidth enables satellite communications customers to produce products with increased bandwidth. Also, wide input bandwidths coupled with high sample rates allow new wideband digital pre-distortion architectures in wireless communications applications.
