New SOM simplifies industrial-grade Linux designs

24-05-2018 | Microchip Technology | Semiconductors

The Microchip SAMA5D27 SOM removes the complexity of managing signal integrity, EMI and ESD for high-speed interfaces and power management in MPU-based industrial Linux designs. Built around the ATSAMA5D27C-D1G-CU System-in-Package, the SOM adds non-volatile boot memory, power management, Ethernet PHY and high-speed DDR memory onto a small single-sided PCB. Used as a production-ready module or as a reference design together with a mainlined Linux distribution, the device simplifies the development of industrial-grade Linux designs and prove of concepts. The module begins with the SAMA5D27C System-In-Package with integrated high-speed DDR memory. It then adds power management enabling single 3.3V operation, non-volatile boot memory and Ethernet PHY - all packed into small, single-sided PCB Development Tools.
