Omron Electronic Components has extended its non-contact MEMS thermal sensor range, available now from TTI Europe. It features a new narrow-field version specifically designed to provide accurate non-contact measurements of an objects’ surface temperature for industrial control and building automation systems. It measures the surface temperature of the material by detecting the intensity of the infrared radiation and is also best fit for human detection.
The unique MEMS and ASIC technology can achieve a high SNR. The high-precision area temperature detection also offers a low cross-talk field of view characteristics. The device can detect human presence by detecting temperature gap between human and the surroundings. The temperature detected by each sensor element can be checked in realtime, and the temperature data can be logged in CSV format.
