Rugged RS485 transceiver for extreme temperature and high noise environments

Analog Devices has launched the LTC2879X extreme temperature 175°C ±60V fault tolerant RS485/RS422 transceiver. The device is built to work in demanding temperature ranges and is 100% tested to specifications at 175C. It features enhanced overvoltage fault protection and extreme electrical overstress protection ensuring reliable data communications when faced with the most common threats in electrically noisy environments. The device's small 3mm x 3mm footprint is 50% less than similar devices, which helps lessen PCB costs and create condensed design formats. The extreme temperature range, strong fault tolerance, and low-drift, low-leakage circuitry of the device make it ideal for use in industrial control, oil and gas exploration, and aerospace and defence applications.
