Extreme density LEDs offer high-performance for street lamps and high bays

Cree XLamp XD16 Extreme Density LEDs are high-performance, high-density LEDs based on the company's NX Technology Platform. These devices are now available from Mouser. The LEDs provide a lumen density exceeding 284 lumens per square-millimetre. Especially optimised for applications that need high light output and high lumens-per-watt, including street lights and high bays, the LEDs allow higher performance luminaires with better light control. The ceramic-based LEDs employ the XQ footprint and have low thermal resistance, low optical cross-talk, and high reliability. These LEDs are characterised and binned at 85C, offered in ANSI White, EasyWhite three-step and five-step colour temperatures (2700K to 6500K), and CRI options of 70, 80, and 90. These LEDs allow lighting manufacturers to deliver dramatic improvements in lumen output and efficacy, with no increase in the size of the LED array, for a broad spectrum of lighting applications such as directional lighting, colour tuning, and industrial lighting.
