The Analog Devices HMC292A GaAs MMIC Double-Balanced Mixers are miniature passive GaAs MMIC double-balanced mixers that can be used as a downconverter or upconverter from 14GHz to 32GHz. The on-chip baluns provide exceptional isolation. The mixers do not need external components or DC bias. All data is measured with the chip in a 50Ohm test fixture joined via 0.076mm (0.003 inches) ribbon bonds of minimal length less than 0.31mm (<0.012 inches). The applications include microwave point-to-point radios, LMDS, VSAT, ECM, and SATCOM. The EV1HMC292ALC3B Evaluation Board evaluates the features of the HMC292A. Developed using RF circuit design techniques, the board offers an adequate number of via holes to connect the top and bottom ground planes. The board's signal lines operate at 50Ohm impedance with the package ground leads and an exposed pad connected directly to the ground plane.
