Binder UK has added to its 770 Series NCC connector system. The new device is a female panel mount connector specifically designed to be front fastened for easy installation. The company’s NCC connector system protects the contacts to IP67 when not connected with no need for a protective cap. The contacts are protected from dust, water and foreign particles by a spring-mounted lid when unmated. When the cable plug is mated, the contact cover is forced inside the receptacle body, the contacts engage, and the device is locked with a quarter turn of a bayonet-locking collar. According to the company, the efficiency of the design gives a product life of more than 5000 mating cycles. Originally designed by the company for medical equipment, the range is also ideal for all types of portable or hand-held measuring equipment, control devices and other applications where there is an advantage to make rapid set-up changes. The connectors have eight gold-plated contacts, are rated to 2A and 175V in solder and dip-solder versions and cater for cable sizes from 2.5mm to 8mm diameter.
