SPD extends lifespan of an installation plan maintenance to reduce downtime risk

06-09-2018 | RS Components | Power

ABB's Type 2 SPDs are intended to discharge the currents generated by indirect lightning strikes causing induced or conducted overvoltages on the power distribution network. They are available now from RS Components. The devices are characterised by an 8/20µs waveform (Imax). They are installed in the main distribution switchboard but also in a sub-distribution board. They have a low residual voltage UP often compatible to withstand voltage of the equipment to protect. Thanks to the patented Safety Reserve system, you can extend the lifespan of the installation plan maintenance to reduce downtime risk. The device features patented QuickSafe technology and offers back up protection up to 160A Fuse or 125A MCB.
