Thick film design is ideal for space-saving applications

TT Electronics has introduced the WDBR-UL series of ultra-low profile high power resistors. Developed on the existing WDBR product, the new series’ creepage, clearances and power ratings have been assessed in accordance with the demands of UL508, easing the compliance burden for UL approved end users. For circuit designers who must design UL approved systems comprising power resistors in highly compact enclosed assemblies with heatsink-based thermal management, the series offers a far lower volume solution than other encased wirewound products and a quicker route to safety certification. With the ultra-low profile thick-film on steel format, the resistor series is ideal for a broad range of applications in the industrial marketplace. These include motor drive inverters, inrush current limiting, electronic assembly heater elements, snubber circuits, dynamic braking, and over-voltage protection in wind turbines.
