Double ESD circuit protection diode for networking devices

25-10-2018 | Protek | Semiconductors

ProTek Devices has launched a double electrostatic discharge circuit protection diode ideal for networking applications including Ethernet, audio/video inputs, smartphones and cellular phones, and more. It offers 25A SSC at 8/20µs, which is better than the industry average for protecting data lines. The device is intended to protect communications application from the effects of spurious surges. It is compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-2 (ESD): air ±30kV, contact ±30kV, 61000-4-4 (EFT), and 61000-4-5 (surge): 25A. It provides 400W peak pulse power per line (typical = 8/20µs). The PESD3V3 protects two unidirectional lines or one bidirectional line. Also, it provides low leakage current of <2µA and low capacitance. The rated standoff voltage is 3.3V. Operating and storage temperatures ranges from -55C to 150C. The new diode is RoHS and REACH compliant. The device is provided in a moulded JEDEC SOT-23 package. More key mechanical characteristics include lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin Sn) of 260-270C. The device's flammability rating is UL 94V-0.
