Sensor uses light scattering to detect and count particles

22-11-2018 | RS Components | Test & Measurement

The Honeywell HPM Series Particle Sensor, available now from RS Components, is a laser-based sensor using a light scattering method to detect and count particles in a concentration range of 0µg/m3 to 1,000µg/m3 in a given environment. A laser light source illuminates a particle as it is drawn through the detection chamber. As particles pass through the laser beam, the light source becomes obscured and is recorded on the photo or light detector. The device is fully calibrated and features EMC to heavy industrial level IEC61000. The sensor has a response time <6s and has supply current 80mA max. The device is both RoHS and REACH compliant.
