New signal transformers for battery monitoring applications

13-12-2018 | RS Components | Power

RS Components now offers the availability of a pair of BMS (battery monitoring system) signal transformers from Bourns. Stocked by RS Components the new Bourns SM91501AL and SM91502AL are dual and single-channel isolation transformer modules, respectively. Both devices provide common-mode chokes for noise rejection in BMS applications. Delivering compliance with the AEC-Q200 standard for automotive applications, the modules are also employed in reference designs with Analog Device’s LTC6804-1/6811 and NXP’s MC33771/33772 battery monitoring devices. Further electrical characteristics comprise working voltages of 1600VDC and 1000VDC for the SM91501AL and SM91502AL, respectively, and a 4300VDC high-potential isolation voltage. Other features of the models incorporate an extended temperature range from –40C to +125C; support for serial daisy-chain isoSPI communication; and compliance with the RoHS directive.
