The TE Connectivity TE 2129691-1 USB C receptacle, available now from RS Components, is a mid-mount hybrid made of a stainless steel shell with copper alloy contacts. The connector features USB 3.1 Gen 1 protocol.
The device is one of the latest USB versions and consists of a 24-pin connector system and offers a slim design which is ideal for smaller, portable devices. One of the benefits of USB C is that a plug can be inserted either way round, it does not have a specific orientation like traditional USB ports. USB 3.1 provides transfer speeds of 10Gbps.
Typical uses for USB C Connectors include data centres, factory automation, tablets, smartphones, PCs and laptops, power packs and chargers, business equipment, and lighting applications.
