Texas Instruments LMX8410L High-Performance Mixers provide a wide RF frequency input from 4GHz to 10GHz in a high-performance wideband I/Q demodulator. The device gives an excellent dynamic range for high-performance applications with an IIP3 of 28dBm and a Noise Figure of 15dB (both at 5GHz). The device provides a large complex bandwidth of 2.7GHz for high data-rate applications. The mixers offer an automatic DC offset correction algorithm that decreases the offset to less than ±2mV.
Using the SPI interface, fine control of gain and phase with I and Q channels is enabled to obtain a high image rejection. The device has a high level of integration saving board space and complexity. The device combines a wideband RF input balun, removing the necessity for external baluns. Also integrated is a high-performance PLL and VCO, removing the requirement for external LO and LO driver. Moreover, the device combines an IF amplifier and several low noise LDOs, lessening complexity and simplifying the board.
Typical applications include test and Measurement Equipment, wireless Infrastructure, Phased Array Radar, Microwave Backhaul, Satellite Communications, and Software-Defined Radio.
