Adapters and band straps provide protection and strain relief for wires and cables

TE Connectivity has released new AS85049 band straps and adapters. These products are offered now from TTI Europe. The new straps and adapters are a defence specification for connector accessories designed to work with defence connectors like those built to MIL-DTL-38999. The company now has approval on the defence qualified parts list (QPL) for AS85049/82 to /90 band strap adapters and /128 band straps. The products provide protection and strain relief for wires and cables attaching to most defence circular connectors. The devices offer high reliability during vibration with self-coupling locking nut and can accommodate existing tooling with three available band sizes, The company’s band strap termination is made at the back of a connector to offer shielding, screening and grounding to a cable harness to help give EMI and RFI protection and most importantly, allow ease of installation and repair.
