C&K has launched a dual-circuit technology tact switch as an addition to its extensive KSC range of tactile switches.
The new KSC-DCT tact switches offer SPDT NC-NO dual-circuit functionality that offers two outputs from a single input. Housed in a small 6.2 mm x 6.2 mm x 2.9 mm PCB-mount package, the silicone 70SH actuator incorporated in the package increases the height to 5.2 mm above the PCB surface for simple operation and easier integration through pre/post travel.
Rated for 300,000 operations, the new switches need an operating force of 4.75 N and offer a nominal travel distance of 0.85mm. Incorporating the company’s industry-recognised haptics, the switches offer exceptional levels of feedback when pressed.
The new switches are IP67 sealed and operate over the temperature range -40C to +85C, making them ideal for use in harsh environments – particularly those found in automotive, industrial and medical applications.
“The KSC-DCT tact switch is an important addition to our comprehensive range of KSC tact switches,” said Jérôme Smolinski, global product manager, C&K. “It is the first SMT tact switch with an IP67 rating in a 6.2 mm x 6.2 mm package to offer SPDT functionality. In fact, it is the smallest and lowest-cost alternative to snap switches currently available.”
