Hirose EF1 Series Insulated Crimp Ring Terminal, available now from RS Components, provides simple assembly in-line power connectors for up to 160A. The crimp contact itself converts to the connector in a few simple steps by crimping the contact direct to the power cable and then inserting it into the housing. The device's snap-in structure diminishes assembly costs due to its simplicity and capacity to reduce wiring steps. This connector needs no screws like traditional terminal block connectors. With a 60A-rated current capacity when using 38mm2 cable, it supports 5.5, 8, 14, and 22mm2 cables by employing a sleeve to convert the conductor diameter to 38mm2. This connector is versatile enough to be used in an extensive range of mounting applications when connected to a DIN rail or secured to a panel.
