SMD thermal fuse for high currents

The Schurter 100mA Thermal Magnetic Circuit Breakers, 60VDC RTS is a patented surface mount thermal fuse which protects against thermal runaway of power semiconductors such as MOSFETs, ICs, IGBTs, Triacs, SCRs, etc. The device provides physical protection in cases where all software-based security measures have failed. The device separates rated voltages up to 60VDC. The breaker is reflow compatible through mechanical activation procedure, and galvanic separation happens inside the RTS housing. The device offers a small footprint with just two contacts Typical applications are wherever power transistors are used; in automotive use such as cooling fan applications, ABS power steering, PTC heaters, HVAC, Glow plugs, Diesel fuel heaters; for industrial: battery protection, power supplies; and lighting ballasts, H-bridge circuits, motor drivers.
