Supercapacitor module offers high power density to optimise energy consumption

11-01-2019 | TTI Europe | Passives

The new Eaton XLR-48 supercapacitor module, available now from TTI Europe, provides high reliability, high power and ultra-high capacitance energy storage. Utilising EDLC construction, the supercapacitor module can be used as a sole energy source or combined with batteries to optimise lifetime, cost and run time. With ultra-low ESR for high power density, the device provides design lifetime up to 20 years, with millions of charge/discharge cycles during the life of the application. Physical features of the device comprise its heavy-duty metal housing, which is robust and ideal for high vibration, high current uses. An IP65 rating means the module is water jet washable. An industry-standard form factor allows simple integration into multiple applications. The device is manufactured with environmentally-friendly materials for a green power solution. Due to its broad operating temperature range, the supercapacitor energy storage device is ideal for a broad variety of environments and types of installation location, including hybrid and EVs, grid storage, commercial vehicles, underground rail and marine applications.
