Development platform and SoM ecosystems to accelerate open-source projects

Arrow Electronics has launched the Avenger96 Development Platform and SoM to combine the power and flexibility of the latest STMicroelectronics STM32MP1 microprocessor with the strength of the STM32 and 96Boards ecosystems. The SoM, based on the Linaro 96Boards specification, can be employed in production systems as well as for development. The STM32MP1 combines multicore MPU performance with industrial endurance. Its heterogeneous architecture lets users run open-source applications such as a Linux-based HMI on top of real-time control. Featuring a Vivante 3D GPU with OpenGL ES 2.0 support, it is perfect for entry-level to mid-range MPU applications including motor control, industrial communication, or building automation. To create the Board and SoM, the company worked with design specialist DH electronics to combine high-speed interfaces for users to unleash STM32MP1’s performance. Targeting embedded and smart-building applications, the device is compliant with 96Boards Consumer Edition extended version.
