Industrial frequency converters for automation deliver intelligence and energy savings

RS Components has added an innovative frequency converter from Rexroth that gives potential energy savings of up to 80% across industrial and automation applications. The EFC 5610 intelligent variable-frequency drive allows manufacturers and other industrial businesses to fight rising energy costs and extra demand for environmentally friendly production. The device is a high-torque solution for special demands and has a power range up to 160kW. Providing efficient vector control and offering an optimum torque curve with high starting torque, the product satisfies application demands for conveyors; roller tables; logistics and material transport; processing systems including mixers, building material machinery; agitators and centrifuges; plastic production and processing machines; and machine tools. Providing a high degree of flexibility with tailored functionality for multiple application and custom solutions, the converter highlights a compact and highly integrated design combining a range of components. This means less wiring effort is needed, thus new installations and retrofits are straightforward. Also, firmware and parameters can be updated easily via USB or Ethernet with free system commissioning software, such as the manufacturer’s ConverterWorks software.
