Texas Instruments DRV5021 2.5V to 5.5V Hall Effect Unipolar Switches operate from a 2.5V to 5.5V power supply and are perfect for high-speed applications. The device senses magnetic flux density and provides a digital output based on predefined magnetic thresholds. The switch senses magnetic fields perpendicular to the face of the package.
The open-drain output of the device runs a low voltage when the applied magnetic flux density surpasses the magnetic operating point (BOP) threshold. The output goes to high impedance when the flux density reduces to less than the magnetic release point (BRP) threshold. The separation of BOP and BRP due to hysteresis serves to prevent output errors caused by input noise.
System designs are more robust against noise interference using this configuration. The device runs continually across a broad ambient temperature range of –40C to +125C.
