Ultra micro power connectors with excellent design flexibility

Samtec has released their mPOWER connectors – an excellent micro high-power solution with superb design flexibility for power-only or power/signal applications. This 2mm pitch power connector system (UMPT/UMPS) offers a small form factor while achieving up to 18A per blade. Flexible Power MicroThis micro high-power system not only saves board space but also achieves extremely high amperage per square inch. Compared to traditional power connectors that carry 20A per blade in a large form factor, the new connector passes 18A per blade in about half the size, clearing up the board for other components or minimising package size. “I’m excited to add mPOWER to Samtec’s power portfolio – a product that will allow any signal connector to become a power/signal combo,” said Terry Emerson, micro rugged product manager at Samtec, Inc. “This product is a good fit for several industries and will aid with size minimization across all applications.”
