DC-DC converters optimised to drive LDO regulators in low ripple/noise applications

TRACO Power has expanded of their THN 15/20/30 WI series of 15, 20 and 30W DC-DC converters in the standard 1" x 1" x 0.4" package with ultra-wide 4-1 Input ranges. These new 5Vout models with '-A1' suffix feature an extended trim range up to 6VDC. The extended trim function up to 6VDC makes these converters perfect for LDO regulator applications, decreasing power losses over the LDO while removing almost all ripple and noise components and give a clean 5VDC output voltage. This makes these converters perfect for providing isolation and regulation for circuits in low-noise applications These compact, high-performance converters are the latest generation of DC-DC converters and feature an ultra-wide 4:1 input range of 9-36/18-75Vin; full-load operating temperature range of -40C to +70C (up to 105C with derating); input to output isolation of 1,600VDC and a six-sided shielded metal case with an insulated base plate.
