Miniature surface mount crystal oscillators for real-time clock applications

08-04-2019 | Euroquartz | Passives

Euroquartz has launched a new range of miniature surface mount temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) providing very low current consumption in real-time clock applications. The EME32T series provides a frequency of 32.768kHz for real-time clock applications in a 3.28mm x 2.5mm x 1.3mm miniature SMD four-pad package with a selection of supply voltage encompassing 1.8, 2.5, 3, 3.3 and 5V options. Very low current consumption – as little as 0.79µA at 1.8V – is a significant advantage in battery-controlled applications while frequency stability is only ±5ppm over the temperature range from -40C to +85C. Frequency stability versus voltage change is ±0.2ppm for a ±5% input voltage change, while frequency stability against ageing is ±3ppm maximum for the first year. Further specifications comprise initial calibration tolerance of ±1.5ppm at 25C ±2%, timing error over time of 2.628m/year, CMOS output logic with load of 15pF, 100ns maximum rise and fall time and duty cycle of 50% ±10%. Start-up time is 1s maximum at 25C (3s maximum over operating temperature range).
