New connectors offer a versatile and high-performance solution for higher current applications

TE Connectivity has introduced an extension of its VAL-U-LOK connector product line that increases the maximum current rating from 9A to 13A in the broadly accepted 4.2mm centerline spacing connector system. The new 13A connectors support high current demands for wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connections in an extensive variety of applications where power must be connected to a board or subsystem. Customers can select options that assist in preventing incorrect orientation on the PCB as well as materials that satisfy different international flammability demands.

The pin headers in the connectors are rated to 13A per line and are offered with or without polarisation pegs, which are intended to assist with proper orientation on the board. These connectors are created and tested to meet UL94-V-0 flammability demands or Glow Wire Test 750C (no flame) for customers in markets that need Glow Wire testing.

“Introducing these UL-recognized 13A connectors in our VAL-U-LOK line gives customers who need 13A per line, polarising pegs, various flammability ratings or a TPA option another choice of trusted supplier,” said Domenico Saraceno, product manager at TE Connectivity.

These connectors are intended for use in household appliances, automotive and commercial vehicles, industrial machinery, medical devices, HVAC equipment, vending machines and gaming equipment, and more.
