Underground wire tracer system for locating cables and pipes

The AT-3500 Underground Cable/Pipe Locator System from Amprobe can help keep productivity high and operational costs low. The system is available now from RS Components. The system is a rugged, economical solution for locating underground energised and de-energised wires, cables and pipes. The system is excellent for use in parking lots and airport lighting applications, as it precisely pinpoints buried services, with particularly fast sound and meter response. The backlight multiple-segment bar-graph digital display plus audible indicators show and tell. The system uses the proven 33kHz frequency for most locating applications. To bypass lines at utility construction sites, it also provides highly sensitive power and radio modes to enable depth measurements with the press of a button.

The system offers three testing modes for best accuracy: Passive power (50/60Hz); passive radio (RF); an active signal generator with induction mode or directly connected to the cable with test leads or optional clamp. The system is a complete instrument, ready for use with receiver, transmitter, connection cable, ground stake and ground cable.
