Texas Instruments TPS22919 Load Switches provide an adjustable quick output discharge and a controlled slew rate. The switch comprises an N-channel MOSFET that can operate over an input voltage range of 1.6V to 5.5V and can support a maximum continuous current of 1.5A. The device provides an ON state that is controlled by digital input, can interface directly with low-voltage control signals. A Smart Pull Down is employed to keep the ON pin from floating until system sequencing is complete when power is first applied. Once the pin is intentionally driven High (>VIH), the Smart Pull Down will be disconnected to stop unnecessary power loss.

The load switch executes a self-protected feature that will protect itself from short circuit events on the output of the device. Furthermore, the device provides a thermal shutdown to stop any damage from overheating. The device is characterised for operation over a junction temperature range of –40C to 125C and is available in a standard SC-70 package.

Typical applications include personal electronics, set-top boxes, HDTVs, and multi-function printers.
