Two-piece split banding rings provide lightweight and reliable termination

TE Connectivity's M85049 Two-Piece Split Banding Rings give a lightweight, rugged, reliable electrical termination where braid sock, individual, or a combination of screen braids are needed to be terminated away from the backshell.

The two-piece design employs a high-performance engineering plastic that snaps together giving a mechanical joint with protection for the cable harness under the terminated area. The split banding rings' flexibility enables the use of the company's standard band strap, strain relief, and shield termination products, incorporating solder devices and heat shrink moulded shapes.

The rings work in a -65C to +175C temperature range and satisfy the performance demands of SAE AS-85049/93.

Typical applications include avionics, defence ground vehicles, radar systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance solutions.
