256-channel AFE designed for flat-panel detector-based digital x-ray system

Texas Instruments AFE2257 256-Channel Analog Front End (AFE) is created for a flat-panel detector-based digital x-ray system. The device offers 256 integrators, correlated double samplers with dual banking, 256:4 analog multiplexers, and four 16-bit SAR ADCs. The ADCs give serial data available in low-voltage differential signalling format.

Employing benefits such as multiple power modes and in-system debug options, the device optimises the overall x-ray system performance. Substantial power saving is produced allowing the nap and power-down modes that are particularly useful in battery-powered systems.

Typical applications include flat-panel, X-ray detectors, charge detectors and capacitance measurement.
