Murata now offers a new wire-wound common mode choke coil (CMCC) DLW32SH101XF2, which they claim is the world’s first CMCC to support the most challenging requirements of DCMR Class 3. Subsequently, the new device satisfies the IEC62228-3 demand for use in CAN FD, the flexible data rate version of CAN bus that is required for next-generation automotive networks.
The new product draws on the company's CMCC design and manufacturing expertise to achieve the high performance and dependability demanded for CMCCs used in CAN FD networks. The device provides a common-mode inductance of 100uH and is rated for currents up to 115mA and voltages of 50VDC. Provided in tape-and-reel format, the surface-mounted device is constructed in a tiny 1210 package, measuring only 3.2mm x 2.5mm claiming to make it the world’s smallest CAN FD CMCC supporting Class 3 due to the company's unique wire-wound structure.
The RoHS and REACH compliant device is capable of operating in temperatures between -40C and +125C. It is qualified to AEC-Q200, proving its suitability for demanding automotive environments.
