M23 connectors qualified to perform at depths of 5m

Smiths Interconnect has released a waterproof M23 circular connector series qualified for submersible motor and pump applications. The series is available now from TTI Europe.

The company’s M23 connectors, furnished with Hypertac hyperboloid contact technology, are well recognised in the industrial market segment and are an excellent solution for applications that face rough and corrosion-prone conditions in the food and beverage, maritime, chemical, and medical industries.

Industrial applications in underwater environments have recently needed interconnect solutions for submersible motors and pumps to be waterproof while sustaining the same high electrical and mechanical reliability and endurance demanded under dry conditions.

The outcome is a reliable, state-of-the-art sealed M23 connector, with stable electrical and mechanical continuity, securing failure-free performance. The technical characteristics of the series also give outstanding shock and vibration resistance in other severe conditions, such as aggressive gas, chemical, and polluted environments, as well as resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and acid.
