XP Power has delivered two new series of external power supplies that are designed for modern medical applications, which include safety approvals for home-based healthcare, and IT applications where energy efficiency and international safety approvals are crucial. Typical efficiencies for ALM150 models reach 93%, and 92% for the ALM200 models. All of the new PSUs satisfy Energy Efficiency Level VI and use less than 0.15W in standby mode.
The PSUs are approved for medical applications to ANSI/AMMI ES60601-1, ANSI/AMMI HA60601-1-11, EN/IEC60601-1 and EN/IEC60601-1-11. Both series are also approved to UL/EN/IEC62368 and IEC60950 for ITE applications and carry CCC, PSE, KC and RCM approvals. The products are compliant with all the newest EMC legislation including the medical 60601-1-2 4th edition.
The ALM150 series provides power levels up to 150W while the ALM200 series produces 200W. Both series give five single output versions with output voltages of 12V, 15V, 19V, 24V and 48V. A universal input voltage range (80 to 264VAC) is standard on both series, proving their fitness for worldwide use and home healthcare applications. US, European and UK mains cables are offered.
The PSUs are housed in an IP32 vent-free plastic case, due to the high efficiency. This provides for safe wipe-down of the units in environments where hygiene is crucial, such as medical applications and the food industry.
The ALM150 and ALM200 series run at temperatures between 0C and +60C and can achieve their full rated power at ambient temperatures as high as +40C.
