Cable mount connector series offers smaller size with reduced installation space

The Hirose ix Industrial offers a series with reduced size of 75% when compared to conventional RJ-45 modular solutions. The connector series is available now from RS Components. This size reduction provides for decreased installation space. Parallel-mounting at P=10mm is possible.

The connector locks by just inserting the plug into the receptacle. An audible click ensures locking. The lock can be released by pushing the button on the plug leading to a smooth removal.

The PCB-mounted receptacle shell is intended to minimise the impact of wrenching force from the plug on the mated surface. Furthermore, the PCB-mounted shape is intended to protect the contacts. Stainless steel material is employed for metal parts to enhance mechanical strength.

The devices' optimised shielding design guarantees high EMC resistance to secure safe data transmission and offer Cat.5e (1Gbps) and Cat.6A (10Gbps) high-speed Ethernet performance.

The receptacle shell is mounted at the through-hole section of the PCB to improve the mounting strength of the PCB. Both signal contact SMT and PIP mounting provide for reflow-mounting and decrease of working hours needed for board processing.
