New solution enables designers to create 'platform' input modules for multiple product iterations

Analog Devices has introduced the AD4110-1 AFE with integrated 24-bit ADC for industrial process control systems. The device is a universal input AFE with an integrated ADC that enables customers to create a 'platform' input module that can be configured for multiple functions. This delivers significant R&D cost savings, lessens time to market and needs fewer design resources.

The high voltage inputs of the device are completely software configurable for current or voltage signals, enabling the direct interface to all standard industrial analog signal sources. One reference design substitutes many, decreasing module size and reducing cost of ownership. Software-configurable I/O is a key factor in the implementation of Industry 4.0.
