Bulgin has launched a rugged duplex LC fibre optic connector specific for use in harsh environments. The 6000 Series Fiber LC Duplex connector includes an additional optical fibre connection for applications where separate transmit and receive cables are needed. In comparison to a simplex optical fibre cable and connector, the extra glass fibre on the duplex cable can also be utilised as built-in obsolescence in mission-critical applications, or to double the data transmission capabilities where needed.
The 6000 Series LC Duplex connector is ideal for outdoor television broadcast, FTTX (fibre to the x), civil engineering, server room engineering, aviation and rail applications. With remarkably low insertion loss (average: <0.1dB, max: 0.2dB), the connector gives reliable performance regardless of the application environment.
The connector is provided either with pre-assembled patch cords or assembly kits for termination in the field. Kits are also offered for inline and chassis connectors to build the sealed harsh-environment connector around a standard LC duplex interface.
