High-efficiency PSUs meet industrial and medical safety requirements

RS Components is now stocking the XP Power ALM200 series of external AC/DC power supplies, created to achieve high efficiency and low standby power satisfying the latest environmental guidelines. The device is also approved to international medical and IT safety standards.

The series provides voltage output options of 12V, 15V, 19V, 24V and 48V, each with power output of up to 200W. Class I and Class II versions are also available. Load regulation is 3% or 3.5%.

Average efficiency surpasses 90% across all models, clearly satisfying the demands of the EU Code of Conduct (COC) Tier 2 energy efficiency standard. No-load standby power consumption is lower than 0.15W, with earth leakage current less than 250μW. Medical and IT safety approvals comprise TUV 62368-1 and 60601-1 (medical EMC 4th edition), and various other CSA, UL, CB and CE standards.

The PSU includes overload, overvoltage, short circuit and thermal protection functions and comes in a fully sealed 209mm x 82mm x 43mm enclosure giving IP32 ingress protection. A smooth surface finish makes the unit easy to wipe down in a clinical environment.

The operating temperature of the PSU is from 0C to 60C, and each unit carries a three-year warranty.
